Immediately after flowering finishes, before seeds set (typically July–August). Shear the entire plant to the ground with garden shears or scissors as soon as the flowers begin to fade and before seed heads mature. New basal foliage will regrow within weeks.

Cut to ground once annually after flowering; remove unwanted seedlings as they appear. Alchemilla mollis self-seeds very freely.
