Wild Quinine problems — and how to fix them

Slow establishment and delayed flowering
Plants spend the first one to two years building their taproot and may not flower substantially until year two or three — this is normal behaviour, not a care failure.
Powdery mildew in humid, shaded sites
Poor air circulation and excessive shade can trigger powdery mildew late in summer; site in full sun with adequate spacing (at least 45 cm) to prevent it.
