White Brodiaea problems — and how to fix them
White Brodiaea (Triteleia hyacinthina) is generally low-drama, but a few issues come up again and again. Here is what each one looks like, why it happens, and the fix.
Corm rot
The most common failure: caused by summer watering or poorly drained soil during dormancy. Lift corms in wet climates and store dry, or plant in raised beds with added grit.
Failure to flower
Usually caused by insufficient warmth and drought during dormancy, or planting too shallow. Ensure corms are planted 8–10 cm deep in a sunny spot that dries out naturally in summer.
