Stardust Ice Plant problems — and how to fix them

The most common cause of death. Standing water, especially in winter, quickly rots crowns and roots. Improve drainage and cut watering to near-zero through cold months.
Reduced or absent flowering
Too little direct sun is the most frequent cause. Ensure 6–8 hours of full sun daily. Excessive nitrogen fertiliser also shifts energy to foliage at the expense of flowers.
Aphid and mealybug infestation
Can occur in sheltered indoor or greenhouse cultivation. Treat with a gentle insecticidal soap or neem oil spray, ensuring good ventilation to prevent recurrence.
