Spider Cactus problems — and how to fix them
Spider Cactus (Gymnocalycium saglionis) is generally forgiving once you match its basics, but a few issues come up again and again. Here is what each one looks like, why it happens, and the fix.
Slow growth impatience
It is naturally very slow; expect years to reach size. Steady bright light and a proper winter rest matter more than pushing it with water or feed.
Root and basal rot

Corking
Brown corky tissue at the base with age is largely natural, but premature corking can follow sunburn or stress — provide stable conditions.
