Rojo Congo problems — and how to fix them
Rojo Congo (Philodendron 'Rojo Congo') is generally forgiving once you match its basics, but a few issues come up again and again. Here is what each one looks like, why it happens, and the fix.
Red colour fading to green
Too little light. Move to brighter indirect light to restore the burgundy flush on new leaves.
Drooping, soft stems
Overwatering or root rot. Let the soil dry more between waterings and check drainage.
Brown leaf tips
Low humidity or salt buildup from fertiliser. Raise humidity and flush the soil periodically.
Pale, spotty leaves
Direct sun scorch. Pull the plant back from the window into filtered light.
