Rocket Mixed snapdragon problems — and how to fix them
Rocket Mixed snapdragon (Antirrhinum majus 'Rocket Mixed') is generally forgiving once you match its basics, but a few issues come up again and again. Here is what each one looks like, why it happens, and the fix.
Antirrhinum rust
Orange-brown pustules on leaf undersides are especially problematic on tall, densely planted Rocket-type cultivars. Remove affected foliage immediately, improve spacing, and consider a preventative copper-based fungicide spray.
Stem collapse / Fusarium wilt
Sudden wilting and browning of stems, often at the base. Caused by Fusarium soil fungi. Remove affected plants immediately, avoid replanting snapdragons in the same spot, and improve drainage.
Aphids and thrips
Both pests damage flower spikes and distort blooms. Check plants weekly, especially in warm weather. Apply insecticidal soap or neem oil and remove heavily infested shoots.
Prevent rocket mixed snapdragon problems before they start
Most rocket mixed snapdragon issues are care-mismatch, not bad luck. Dial in the basics:
