Metallic Palm problems — and how to fix them
Metallic Palm (Chamaedorea metallica) is generally forgiving once you match its basics, but a few issues come up again and again. Here is what each one looks like, why it happens, and the fix.
Overwatering and stem rot
As a single-stemmed palm it has no backup; soggy soil rots the stem and kills the plant. Let the top of the soil dry between waterings and ensure free drainage.

Brown, crispy tips come from low humidity, fluoride or salts in tap water, or over-feeding. Raise humidity, use filtered or rainwater, and flush the soil periodically.
Spider mites in dry air
