Ice Plant problems — and how to fix them
Ice Plant (Sedum spectabile) is generally forgiving once you match its basics, but a few issues come up again and again. Here is what each one looks like, why it happens, and the fix.
Flopping or collapsing stems
Caused by too much shade, rich soil, or overwatering. Grow in full sun with lean, fast-draining soil and avoid feeding. A Chelsea chop in late May keeps clumps shorter and self-supporting.
