The thin caulescent stems are highly susceptible to rot if water sits at the junctions; always ensure rapid drying after watering and never cover the base with water-retaining materials such as moss or dense substrate.
Loss of fragrance or failure to bloom
Blooming is triggered by adequate light levels and seasonal temperature fluctuation; if the plant never flowers, move it to a brighter spot and allow temperatures to dip toward 10–13°C for a few weeks in winter.
