Daffodil problems — and how to fix them
Daffodil (Narcissus) is generally forgiving once you match its basics, but a few issues come up again and again. Here is what each one looks like, why it happens, and the fix.
Blind shoots
Bulbs too crowded, planted too shallow, or short on light.

Maggots inside bulbs; lift and dispose of soft bulbs.
Basal rot
Wet summer soils; improve drainage.
Foliage flopping after flowering
Tie loosely or fold over with a rubber band; bulbs need leaves to feed for at least 6 weeks after blooming.
