Belize Sage problems — and how to fix them
Belize Sage (Salvia miniata) is generally low-drama, but a few issues come up again and again. Here is what each one looks like, why it happens, and the fix.
Red spider mite
A serious pest under glass or in heated interiors; fine webbing on undersides of leaves and stippled, bronzed foliage are the signs — raise humidity and treat with predatory mites (Phytoseiulus persimilis) or insecticidal soap.
Botrytis (grey mould)
Grey, fuzzy mould on stems and flowers in cool, humid, poorly ventilated conditions; increase air circulation, remove affected tissue promptly, and avoid wetting foliage when temperatures are low.
