Aloe Ferox problems — and how to fix them
Aloe Ferox (Aloe ferox) is generally forgiving once you match its basics, but a few issues come up again and again. Here is what each one looks like, why it happens, and the fix.
Root and stem rot
Overwatering or heavy soil rots the trunk base. Use very free-draining mix and water only when fully dry.
Frost damage on young plants
Tender growth is harmed below about 4-5°C. Mature plants are hardier, but protect youngsters from frost.
Slow growth in pots
Confined roots and low light slow this large species. Give a deep pot and maximum sun for steady growth.
Scale and mealybugs
