Trachycarpus — 12 species

Trachycarpus is a genus of cold-hardy fan palms from the Himalayas and eastern Asia, spanning species such as Trachycarpus fortunei (the Chinese Windmill Palm), Trachycarpus takil, and Trachycarpus latisectus. They are among the most frost-tolerant palms available, tolerating temperatures as low as -10 °C when established. Indoors or in containers, provide at least five hours of direct sun daily and water moderately, letting the top few inches of soil dry between waterings. Toxicity varies across the genus — check each species before buying if you have pets.
