Senecio — 14 species

Senecio is a large, varied genus whose trailing succulent members — String of Pearls, String of Bananas, String of Dolphins, and String of Teardrops — are among the most coveted hanging plants in indoor collections. All thrive in bright indirect light with some direct sun, and share the same drought-tolerant care: water thoroughly, then let the soil dry out completely before watering again to avoid root rot. All Senecio species in this genus are toxic to cats and dogs, causing vomiting, drooling, and lethargy if ingested; display them well out of reach of pets.
