Pieris14 species

Pieris is a genus of compact, slow-growing evergreen shrubs prized for their cascading clusters of bell-shaped flowers in late winter to spring and vivid new-growth foliage — cultivars such as 'Mountain Fire' and 'Cavatine' are garden staples in temperate climates. They thrive in partial shade to filtered sun with at least four hours of light daily, and prefer consistently moist, well-drained, acidic soil — about one inch of water per week keeps them healthy. All parts of the plant contain grayanotoxins and are toxic to cats and dogs.
