Oncidium — 12 species
Part of the Orchids family (Orchidaceae)
Oncidium, widely known as Dancing Lady orchids, is a diverse genus of over 300 epiphytic species valued for their arching sprays of small, richly patterned blooms — including the cocoa-scented Chocolate orchid. They thrive in bright, indirect to dappled light near an east, west, or south-facing window. Water thoroughly every one to two weeks once the bark or medium is nearly dry; the fleshy pseudobulbs store moisture, so brief drying between waterings is beneficial. Oncidiums are confirmed non-toxic to cats and dogs, making them one of the most pet-friendly orchid choices available.
