Livistona are stately fan palms from Africa, Asia, and Australia, with arching, deeply divided fronds that give them a graceful fountain-like silhouette indoors. Species such as the Chinese Fan Palm (Livistona chinensis) and Taraw Palm adapt well to containers in bright, indirect light, requiring watering once the top 5 cm of soil dries out, and prefer filtered water to prevent fluoride-related leaf tip burn.
