Hyacinthus7 species

Hyacinthus is a small genus of spring-blooming bulbs prized for their intensely fragrant, densely packed flower spikes in shades from white to deep purple — cultivars such as Delft Blue, Woodstock, and Carnegie are widely grown indoors and out. Indoors, they perform best in bright, indirect light at cool temperatures between 60–65°F; warmer conditions shorten bloom time. Keep soil moist but never waterlogged to prevent bulb rot. The entire genus is toxic to cats and dogs: the bulbs carry the highest concentration of alkaloids, causing vomiting, diarrhoea, and tremors if ingested, per the ASPCA. Store and display with care.
