Geranium78 species

True Geranium — the hardy cranesbill, not the florist's Pelargonium — is a genus of some 400 perennial species native to temperate regions worldwide. Plants such as Geranium 'Johnson's Blue' and Geranium sanguineum thrive in full sun to partial shade; most are remarkably adaptable. Water moderately and consistently during the first growing season to establish roots; once established, cranesbills tolerate short dry spells well. Toxicity varies across the genus: while many true Geranium species are considered non-toxic, related common names cause confusion and some species may cause mild reactions in pets. Check each species individually before buying.
