Episcia14 species

Episcia, the flame violets, are low-growing, stoloniferous members of the Gesneriaceae family native to tropical Central and South America. Grown for their richly textured, often copper or silver-patterned leaves and vivid tubular flowers in red, orange, pink, or white, they excel in terrariums and hanging baskets. They prefer bright, indirect light and consistently moist (not wet) soil, demanding high humidity of 60–80%. Direct misting damages their leaves. The ASPCA lists Episcia as non-toxic to cats and dogs.
