Curio — 16 species
Curio is a genus of trailing South African succulents, reclassified from Senecio, including String of Pearls (C. rowleyanus) and String of Raindrops (C. herreanus). All species store water in their distinctive bead-shaped leaves and demand bright indirect light — insufficient light causes pearls to shrink and vines to etiolate. Water sparingly, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings; overwatering is the leading cause of root rot. All Curio species are toxic to cats and dogs and should be kept well out of pets' reach.
