Buddleja — 9 species

Buddleja is a genus of fast-growing, arching shrubs best known as butterfly bush, producing dense, fragrant flower spikes in purple, white, and pink from midsummer into autumn. They demand full sun — at least six hours daily — and thrive in well-drained soil, tolerating dry spells once established while resenting waterlogged roots. All Buddleja species, including 'White Profusion', 'Miss Ruby', and 'Lo and Behold Blue Chip', are toxic to cats and dogs and should be kept out of reach of pets.
