Achimenes, commonly called hot water plants or magic flowers, are rhizomatous tropical perennials producing a summer-long cascade of tubular blooms in shades from violet to coral — varieties like 'Tarantella' and 'Peach Blossom' are long-time hanging-basket favourites. They need bright indirect light, sheltered from harsh midday sun, and consistently moist (never waterlogged) soil during the growing season.
